Teaching Philosophy

As a nurse educator, my philosophy of teaching places the student or learner in the center of learning.  My teaching philosophy is to educate using a framework of knowledge, skills and attitudes that drives nursing practice through embracing the following attributes:  accountability, cultural values and beliefs, empathy, evidence, professionalism, respect, and continued improvement in outcomes.  I believe adapting to individual learner needs is necessary for a student/learner to attain success in learning.  My role as educator is to offer opportunities for engagement and guided learning in a way that fosters mastery of knowledge, skills and attitude, applicable to best practice.
